I much prefer the original R2/R4/Excalibur than anything that's been derived from it. I did get it for a low price, so I can't rail against them on the cost front, but I do believe you should continue to support things you're currently selling, and I also just find it really disappointing to see them buy out a great codebase and abandon it. It's great software, and I will miss it should they let it die. I won't buy any more of their products regardless of how ridiculous the sale price is.I'm quite disappointed that they announced no plans to support the Exponential stuff on M1. IZotope is an extremely customer-unfriendly company in this regard, to put it mildly. I bought a lot of the Exponential Audio reverbs and rely on them, but they aren't working anymore on my Apple Silicon Mac. I'm in a similar situation and feel your pain. I won't buy any more of their products regardless of how ridiculous the sale price is. And the end-of-life date for a software product should be announced several years before it happens, so that customers know at the time of purchase for how long into the future they can rely on updates. Not only is it shady to stop support for products YOU ARE STILL SELLING, but even beyond that, even if a company discontinues a product, they should still support it for several years into the future. I think at this point it's pretty safe to assume that iZotope will not release any updates at all anymore for any Exponential Audio products. I’m pretty pissed if they really stop updating them.I'm in a similar situation and feel your pain. The surround versions have better algorithms, they are professional tools for demanding situations. These are expensive - I’m not talking about Phoenix or R2 that you can frequently find for 10 bucks. I’ve bought into the Post Prod suite in part because of the surround reverbs.
